Børge Bredenbekk - "Trees" (silkscreen)
→ 60x40cm on 250g mist paper.
→ Screen printed by hand
→ Ltd Edition of 35.
→ Signed and numbered.
A series of two prints inspired by the remaining snow clusters on our apple trees marking the end of winter. I wanted this to be somewhere in between figurative and abstract. The bold shapes dissolve up close but from a distance the depiction is clear.
Norwegian Artist Børge Bredenbekk (1975) studied for a Bachelor of Arts in England followed by many years of illustration work through his former collective Brenneriveien and his agent ByHands. He is now a full time artist and combines different technical skills with a keen eye for storytelling, carefully considered compositions and bold visuals. His work is divided in two styles, his drawings are usually hyper realistic and balances the dark and beautiful. His graphic work is somewhere between traditional and modern in form and inspired by late last century social realism. He is generally fascinated by manual labor, craftmanship and iconic compositions.
